"Quite possibly the worst customer service experience I've had in my life, and I'm not someone who complains about much. State Farm is fine enough if nothing ever happens to you. When it does, the true colors of their brand and priorities are shown. I totaled my car in June 2025 and was given wildly inconsistent information on what my options were regarding a salvage title. The claims representative assigned to my case was rude, pushy, unprofessional, and was unaware of MN state laws regarding salvage vehicles. They wasted my valuable time and pressured me into totaling the vehicle as soon as possible without giving me proper time to assess my options. When I politely explained my frustration with the inconsistencies, I was met with aggressiveness from the claims representative – enough where I (as the customer) had to deescalate the situation. Ben Naumann never once reached out personally during this experience (even though he's listed as my agent), and I only spoke to other individuals in his office while I was desperately trying to get an accurate and factual understanding of what my options were. I actually can’t remember a time I spoke to Ben directly besides my initial inquiry with getting coverage from State Farm three years ago. The whole experience was more stressful than the accident itself, which speaks volumes. If you’re just sending them a check every month, they’re fine – but the moment you need them, they’re not in your corner."

I understand that dealing with a total loss is already stressful, and it's especially disheartening to hear that communication from the claims side added to that burden. While the claims process is handled directly through State Farm's corporate claims department--and often times outside our office's direct control--my team and I always aim to support our customers however we can during those situations. I try to be as accessible as possible, but clearly there was a missed opportunity here for a more direct connection--and I take that seriously. "Hands down... THE WORST experience I have had with insurance. Follow through by this agency was inconsistent at best. None of the information I received via phone conversations was reflected on the statements, I received. I made several changes over the course of my enrollment. Each change brought more problems that they were not capable of dealing with. Just be upfront, please. Failed me at every turn. Extremely Disappointed"

"Since USAA got a new CEO and tripled their prices I decided that being loyal wasn’t in my best interest. Oops, I just threw USAA under the bus. So I went with the red shirt and khaki pants people and it was a smooth transition. In my case with two vehicles I pay $282 less per six months and I will put that extra money towards some pasture raised eggs."
